For those of you who are interested in shooting precision rifle matches, this is for you. I’m excited to announce that I’m working with Jim See on a new precision rifle match series for 2017. If you don’t know Jim – he’s been a top Precision Rifle Series (PRS) shooter since that series started, and builds some real nice rifles. We will be holding a total of ten matches across five midwestern states – Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. Each match only costs $50 to enter and to participate in the point series race, there is a one time $25 membership fee.

At each match you’re guaranteed to shoot a minimum of 80 rounds over eight stages at ranges out to 1,000 yards. The series has a number of sponsors including Vortex Optics, Nightforce, Krieger, Rock Creek, X-Steel Targets and more. There are going to be a lot of prizes at each match – halfof which will be awarded to shooters in the order the place, and the other half by random drawing, giving everyone a chance at taking home a nice prize regardless of their experience level.

At the end of the year, the top fifty shooters who are Border War Rifle Series Members will be invited to the Finale Match. The top BWRS shooter at the end of the year will also receive an invitation to the 2017 National Rifle League Finale.

I’ll be running one of the Wisconsin matches at Winnequah Gun Club on July 15th, 2017 with my friend Bill Rentmeester. We also have approval to run a couple local precision rifle matches in addition to the BWRS match, and we’ll have more info on that soon.
